Bristol is known as a powerhouse in factual programming and as a global leader for natural history. Join us for a conversation with two senior execs leading the charge in our city, Sacha Mirzoeff, Head of Channel 4 Bristol and Jonny Keeling, Head of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Studios Natural History Unit. 

Technology has fundamentally changed the way we make and watch television, but underpinning everything are great characters, original ideas, and compelling storytelling. This session will delve into the craft required to captivate audiences, from subjects as diverse as hunting down corrupt police officers in 'To Catch a Copper' to rhinos playing 'kiss chase' as a courtship ritual in 'Asia.'  The pair will discuss the importance of nurturing diverse, creative talent and how to maintain and grow the region's reputation.

The Great British Bake Off is the ultimate baking battle featuring passionate amateur baking fans competing to be crowned the UK's best amateur baker.

Produced by Love Productions, the show aired its 15th series last autumn on Channel 4, with the multi-award winning format still delighting audiences and bringing in huge ratings. How has a show about making cakes and biscuits become a global phenomenon? Hear from the production team as they share insights into the creative process including how the format has evolved, the crucial role of casting, plus the essential "how to avoid a soggy bottom".
