This is the diary of Lt Col William Cuddy, commanding officer of the 55th Regiment of Foot, in the Crimean War. He was killed on the 8th Septmebr 1855 during the final battle of the war, having remained with his Regiment throughout the war.
The diary is hand written in a hardbacked book and records his day to day business and his opinions on the leadership (or more to the point lack of leadership) in the campaign.
Lt Col Cuddy was the great great grandfather of my wife. The diary is currently stored in UK, so the picture is of a modern transcript which we have with us.

I am researching the Cuddy family and would love more info on this family
