Grundisburgh Smithy built in the 18th Century - Blacksmith's shops such as this one from Grundisburgh, Suffolk, were once found in towns and villages across the UK. The blacksmith provided an essential service to the surrounding community. He made and fitted horse shoes, forged tools, helped the wheelwright make wheels for carts and carriages and even made and repaired pots and pans.
