Episode 50

Mo chreach-sa thàinig! (Goodness gracious me!) exclaims Sìleas under her breath. It seems the voice they heard was not disembodied after all but in fact belongs to Eàirdsidh! Marsaili grins and goes to greet her friend. That's who was gazing at her at the dance! Eàirdsidh explains he did spot her in the hall but, not knowing they were in the area, thought it must be mistaken identity.

Eàirdsidh is en route to Mingulay. Twelve miles from Barra and uninhabited since 1912, he has longed to visit the island since discovering the Mingulay Boat Song when his choir added it to their repertoire. Would the girls like to join him on the trip?

Sìleas is quiet throughout the exchange, she hasn't seen Eàirdsidh much since the choir miming debacle and although he accepted her apology and seems to have quite forgotten the whole episode, she finds herself prickling with embarrassment all over again!
