Welsh for learners

A collection of engaging videos to help Foundation Phase students studying Welsh for learners. The videos follow a group of friends, with occasional help from their dog Gelert, as they go about their everyday lives. The characters’ accents and dialects are representative of every part of Wales, and there is a transcript of the dialogue available in both Welsh and English. The topics covered are the body; friends and family; feelings; food and drink; hobbies; sport and fitness; weather; places; clocks; money; greetings; home; clothes; daily routine; colours; days of the week; counting from 1-10; counting from 1 – 100.

Welsh history

Educational resources based on five extraordinary Welsh women - Elizabeth Andrews, Betty Campbell, Cranogwen, Elaine Morgan and Margaret Haig Thomas – each one of them Hidden Heroines.

Each teaching pack contains a film, lesson plan and activities for children aged 7-11. The resources give an insight into historical events that took place during their lifetimes and compare them with modern Wales.

The content maps to elements of the National Literacy and Numeracy Framework as well as the Digital Competence Framework.
