Breabach perform the Scots ballad ‘The Rolling Hills of The Borders’ by Matt McGinn live in the studio. Ewan Robertson sings lead vocal and also introduces the track, explaining that the song tells the story of a man who longs for his home in The Borders.

Following this clip, learners could work in groups and perform their version of a Scots ballad such as ‘Loch Lomond.’ Using informal learning approaches they could then transform the Scots ballad version into a Celtic rock version and compare and contrast the different concepts and playing styles within.
