Description

Athlete Amanda Jones explains what people need to eat for a healthy lifestyle. She lists the five types of food which must be eaten every day to stay healthy and gives examples of each, including protein and fruit.

Classroom Ideas

This clip could be used as a stimulus for discussion about healthy eating.

Students could participate in a sorting and matching picture game, grouping common everyday foods into categories of fruit, vegetables, proteins etc. This could then lead to information gathering and recording activities about the types of food that the students eat e.g. they could keep a food diary for a week and then sort what they have eaten into different food groups.
