My friend had bought a skirt in London that was denim and had buttons, ribbon and pins on it and although it was really nice I thought I could make a similar one myself. So I bought a cheap skirt and got a patch from my mum that she used to have on a coat in the 70's. I tried to think of colours and shapes that would go with it. I knew I wanted stars on it somewhere so when I saw the star buttons I knew they were ideal.
