Inspiration-I have chosen a vibrant red and a complementary yellow. These colours reflect the Mayan and Aztec cultures, Mexican mural art and Mexican cuisine.-The pattern on the side panels of the dress was inspired by the Tiger Apple flower which grows in the Mexican forests.-The shape of the jacket was based around the Malaxis orchid, which grows in the cloud forest of Mexico. My design has been influenced by Matthew's style. I have combined clean, simple lines with interesting detail and pattern using vibrant colours. I decided to design a dress with a jacket as the dress can be worn alone but for a different look it can also be worn with the jacket. They work well together as one continuous pattern and theme.
