The inspiration for the bottom part of the dress is designed from a photo of traditional Mexican hanging chili pepper ristras. The colours I chose are inspired by the bright coloured chili peppers- red, yellow, green and orange. The style of the printed design across the top half of the dress comes from a picture of motifs from ancient Mexican designs. The back of the dress is kept simple using a single twist of fabric, in order not to detract from the detail on the front of the dress.
