Title: My Finished Design

My finished design is based on the festival of Los Lunes del Cerro, it is a festival of culture, this made me look at the characteristics of what Mexico was. I noticed patterns and colours played a major part in this. The Colours I chose are chosen because they are incorporated in architecture, music, food and art, the patterns came from the Aztec designs which I discovered in the books in the background of my design. I looked at Matthew Williamson's inspiring spring collection, and tried to include current fashion trends in the design i.e. the height and shape of the dress, whilst making it my own original design. The material of the dress would be linen as this is what the Mexican used because it is light and easy in hot weather. The patterns would be beaded because this is a typical Mexican trait.
