Title: Yes And No

by Rachael A Poole from Lancashire | in writing, poetry

Yes to the hand that feeds the soul,
No to the hand that bites it's fleshy fingers,
Yes to the blade that cuts onto sticky flesh,
No to the sleeves that cover it,
Yes to the love despite not knowing and perhaps one day I'll reach out for it,
No to the hate and malicious intent all to keep the blood pumping,
Yes to my lungs that keeps me breathing,
Hell no to my selfish suffocating,
Yes to the modesty I left behind,
No to the fact I am at the centre,
Yes to habits I cannot keep up with,
No to stopping whilst filled with regret,
Yes to emotions that are like children,
No to scolding them when things go wrong,
Yes I suppose to backchat and more,
No to the bite back I get from them all,
Yes to my future but would I deserve it?
If no was the answer I'd rather forget it.
