Title: Suicide in the trenches

by Nicole from Cheshire | in writing, poetry

When they all come crashing down, mid flight,
You know you're not the only one.
When they're sick and tired of the fight,
And think that they cannot go on.

When they find a back door out of life,
From all the things they did and said,
They reach the nearest gun or knife,
And then out streams the blood so red.

No pain or hurt; he's stopped his heart,
He's dead, he's lost, he's gone.
And as he's thrown upon the cart,
The war- it still goes on.

My inspiration was learning about WW1 in year 9.
