Title: Air, fire, water & earth

by Roberta from Northern Ireland | in writing, poetry

Blustering through the valleys,
Leaves rustling and dancing with each other,
The cold damp air whistling like a haunted night in winter,
Feeling fresh and crisp,
Though, trembling like a leaf,
Can taste my mouth feeling dry and clean,
As the moist dew in the morning air sinks into my lungs,
Trees conversing with each other as they are being tossed in the breeze,
Freezing like the first layer of winter snow

Mystical smoke filling the air slowly,
Stretching upwards in its bright, untouchable nature, twisting array of flames,
Cries from wood and coal as they explode,
Sweet smell of fire brings memories of home,
Taste of fire rings bells of danger philologically,
Flickers individuality of the flames,
Bitter, sour smell of smoke,
Taste the wood and coal as the fire penetrates the atmosphere,
Dancing embers displaying the magic of flames

It roars with waves of thunder,
Very refreshing as you breathe in the cleansing sea air,
Glittering in the sun,
Frothing in the force,
Swishing gently,
Relaxing and very soothing,
Bashing and rushing,
Angry and fierce,
With its depth, the wonderful colours change from green to blue to white, these magical colours all change,
It calmly swifts away in a gentle breeze

Fine grains of powder,
This earth runs from grains to powder through my tender fingers,
Dark and dreary, the depression of wet, thundery nights,
The gritty, clammy, moist soil sticks to my fingers,
No screeching, no crackling, this silent dust moves upon itself tumbling silently,
The wet, sour, dirty smell of the sticky soil clogs your senses,
Drilled with holes, nature's creatures have traced,
It sucks as it parts from its wet, clammy bed,
The warm, dry smell of summer's earth comforting on one's bare feet remembers a childhood
