Title: I don't understand (and I doubt I ever will)

by Hazel from West Sussex | in writing, poetry

While their future clings to the edge of a knife,
Every exam they will flunk,
As each night they get drunk,
In pursuit of a more interesting life.

I like writing limericks, they're very short and roll off the tongue. This one is different however, because it has a serious theme while limericks are recognized for their humour...this is about how I truely don't understand why people throw away their future.
