Title: Hoody!!!

by Stephen from Northern Ireland | in writing, fiction

A boy sits scared in a room, a man in handcuffs the same as the boys looks at him with a stare that would make a grown man cry.
"What you in for mate?" spits the man. The boy just keeps looking straight ahead frozen with fear.
"I said what are you in for?" spits the man again. Building up all the courage he can the boy, still stairing forwads at the wall, speaks "I'm here because some copper decided i beat up some old lady and all i was doing was walking home". The man laughs out loud and makes the boy jump. "You saying your innocent? everyone says that mate and they never are" he spits between laughs.
Feeling more courage brew up like a boiling kettle inside him the boy speaks again "Just because i wear a hat and a hoody dont make me no criminal mate!", "Well the coppers sure think so dont they" spits the man clearly annoyed by the boys new found bravery.
The boy is about to speak again when the door bursts open and a police women comes in. "You're free to go" she says looking at the boy "Your mother is here". The boy stands up and leaves the room with the police women. Outside he feels releif that he doesn't have to spend another minute with that man.
"We found out who beat up the old lady" says the police women to the boys mother. "Your boy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time". that courage still had not left the boy and he found himself speaking again, "There was ten other people on the street why didn't you pick them up, it's cause you see me as grimy innit". With that the boy walks out of the police station and does give the police women another look his mother follows close behind.
