Title: Just Friends?

by Jade from London | in writing, poetry

That picture
The one where they both match
A grey dress and a grey suit,
A bond, some would say.
Just friends though
A boy and girl
Who are closer than close.
But behind her smile
Something she hides
She hates the words "Just friends"
Because that boy in the grey suit
Is in her heart each day
Since his trip to Birmingham
She realised...
Love
Was what it was...
They had history
A few drunken nights
Had come about
A few months before then
Virginity!
He told her the truth
"Just friends, No more"
It killed her inside
To know the boy she truly loved
Would never be hers.

That picture
The once where they both match
A grey dress and a grey suit
A bond, some would say
Lovers
A boy and a girl
Who are truly in love.
A month since Birmingham
A day after the picture
The 10th of May
10pm
He declared his love
A day she will never forget
The boy in the grey suit...
Her boyfriend
His girlfriend
It just seemed to work

Looking back
It's hard to tell
In that picture
Is it really what it seems?

I looked at an old photo of me and my boyfriend a day before he asked me out and it made me remember what our relationship was like when we were ""Just Friends""
