Title: Love is. . .

by Petatus from Northamptonshire | in writing, poetry

Love is a story,
With no ending in sight,
It's something that keeps you awake in the night,
It's bitter yet sweet,
It's overwhelming yet free,
It's a light in the dark that you can't really see.

Love is a dream,
Shattered and lost,
You'll wish and you'll pray for it,
No matter the cost,
To you it's the world,
To them it's just words,
Love is a powerful, uncontrollable curse.

Love is a flow,
Of continuous doubt,
It tosses and turns and throws you about,
Unintentional,
That's what love is,
It's something you hate, but something you miss.

Love is you life force,
Ebbing away,
It feeds like a parasite,
Draining all but the pain,
You can't live without it,
But impossible to live with,
If love is painless,
It is a myth.

Love is a train,
Full speed ahead,
It's a soft cushion pillow,
With a centre of lead,
Love is unstoppable,
It's easy to see,
You can't say 'NO', it just has to be.

Love is the little things,
That make you feel great,
But it's also the something,
Inside that says 'WAIT',
Sometimes it holds you back,
Sometimes it thrusts you forward,
But always, always love will be there,
A feeling so deep,
It's almost unfair!
