(It was a dark cold night when a small group of people came around the corner, all dressed in dark hoodies.)

Alex: Let's go jump that homeless guy on Union Street

Jeff: I don't think that's a good idea

Joe: What, you scared?

Jeff: Nut

Alex: Well come on. Lets go.

Jeff: I'll come, but I aint doing nothing

(They strolled up to Union Street and on their way picked up weapons.)

Joe: There he is. Lets get him!

(Alex jumps on him and throws two punches.)

Alex: Come on! Hit him!

(Joe starts to kick him. Joe and Alex suddenly stop, Alex picks up a brick and put it into Jeff's hand.)

Joe: Hit him'now!

(Jeff stands staring at the brick.)

Jeff: I can't

Joe: What are you'chicken?

Alex: Come on. Do it!

(Jeff looks down at the bloody man in a heap.)

Joe and Alex: Come on!
(together) Hit him!
Do it!
Go on!
Chicken!

(Jeff looks once more at the man then the brick, He then takes a massive swing at the poor defenceless man. The brick cracks his skull open. Jeff stares at the blood, mesmerised. He lowers his head into his hands. A police siren is heard in the distance and grows nearer. It was getting louder, they were getting closer.)

Joe: We have to go.

Alex: Let's go, Come on, Jeff.

Jeff: I can't, I've to stay

Joe: You killed him

Alex: We aren't getting blamed for something you did.

Jeff: But',but you made me.
(Joe and Alex started to laugh, as the siren gets louder. They run off stage and are nowhere to be seen. Jeff couldn't move, he just stands looking at the dead man covered in blood.)

Jeff: They made me do it.

(Jeff falls to his knees. Lights go down.)

the story is about a boy who gets pressured into helping beat up a homeless man and ends up killing him. I was inspired by a play i was in which was about peer pressure.
