Title: Starve a Fever, Feed a Cold

by Craig from Cornwall | in writing, poetry, funny

I tried to feed a cold
but he just turned into this
fat // unemployed slob of jelly
feeding off the electricity of game show TV
and stealing my freshly baked // piping hot cookies
the second that my back is turned.

I tried to starve a fever
but now she is all grey faced
with pertruding flag pole ribs
and she won't talk to me
and the thought of food
makes her physically sick.

I tried to listen to old wife tales
and medical myth,
But I have this illness
that no saying can fix.
