    In the words of Rakim, its been a long time, but Jay shizzle is back….without the mullet. For the first time in the UK, I will be showcasing my new material at Hertfordshire University, with Adil Ray and Bobby Friction. Even my mum got sick of hearing "where is your son gone? I havent seen him on the telly for ages!" The answer is everywhere!!!!

    I have been promoting the first album around the world, and had some of the most amazing, eye-opening years ever. Touring the world gave me the chance to switch things up, re-invent and take it back to the music I first fell in love with..RnB. It's time for a fresh new sound. I don't know about you, but I got bored of hearing yet another Asian vocal mixed with a 50cent beat or Beyonce's vocals over a tumbi and a dhol. Dont get me wrong, remixes are all good, but as original songs, I think it's time we need to up the quality a little!

    So I wanted to concentrate on writing real songs, not so production driven, just real good songs that will hopefully stand the test of time. To create an album I can look back at and be proud of. We have to do our thing as a minority genre to get heard, and earn some respect!!

    The best thing is I get to launch the new material in a freshers environment, it was one of the best times for me at Univeristy… It's one time in your life you can have some serious fun... go out there and enjoy, make new friends and sleep around....errrm..sleep around your friends house..on the spare bed, that is..you know..incase you get too inebriated to drive home sensibly!!! Phew!

    I will be in the SU with Adil..just like good mates!. On the night, my boy from the westside, Friction will be live from the SU Hall. Expect the industry standard 'get your hands up' rowdiness, but also the new Jay Sean material which can be heard live to the Asian Network Nation on Friday 28th September.

    I am well up for the Tour…..c u there!

    gotta say, the best act at herts uni tour was Swami, by a long shot! they absolutely rocked it! other performances were poor IMO but the DJ sets were excellent, big up to kayper and sonny ji.
