backstage.bbc.co.uk launches
We’re delighted to announce the launch of backstage.bbc.co.uk's public beta. This is a brave new world for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, so bear with us we strive to improve what we have to offer over the coming weeks and months.
Here at backstage.bbc.co.uk we're passionate about giving designers and developers the content and services they need to create cool new things – if you’re one of them, why not join us?
It’s taken several manic months to bring you backstage.bbc.co.uk. In many ways its a brave thing for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú to be doing – with our editorial values, our size, our historical legacy and our status as a trusted brand on the Internet – we hope can understand why we had been cautious in letting go of control of so much of our content.
backstage.bbc.co.uk is run by people just like you. I’m Ben, a software engineer and website developer. I've worked on the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú News and Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Sport websites for the last 5 years. My colleague James has been supporting innovation across the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú’s new media departments for the last 3 years. Together, we’ll be running backstage.bbc.co.uk and promoting it across the Internet. We’ll also be the advocates for your ideas and prototypes inside the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, ensuring that your ideas & prototypes are seen by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú’s key people.
On the email discussion list you'll find many of my technical and design colleagues from across the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú’s new media departments. Why not sign up and be a part of our exciting designer/developer community?
It may be cliché, but “this really is your site so please let us know what you want to see. Feel free to send us feedback, comments and criticism.
