I got scanned earlier in the week and the news was quite positive after coming off injured . You get graded one to three with one being OK and three being pretty bad. Mine is a grade one strain so that is good news. .

Through my career I've had very few injuries so I am lucky really. However, it was the second season running I have picked up an injury at Watford, so someone obviously has a voodoo doll of me!

Last season and I had a shoulder injury that kept me out until the end of the season - that's the longest I have been out injured in my career.

I absolutely hate being in medical rooms, not being able to go out to train with the lads.

Hi, we're in the middle of another hectic week in the Championship and I'm trying to get my head around the topsy-turvy fixture list.

On Friday we take on Watford in front of the live TV cameras and that will be the third game in a week after a fortnight off.

It doesn't make sense to me. The international breaks interrupt the flow of the Championship. We go from three games in a week now to three games in the whole of November. Squads in the Championship are not as big as the ones in the Premier League so maybe there needs to be a rethink.

Hello, this week I'm blogging about 'video nasties', go-karting, white-water rafting, shopping, how football has changed and about some of our backroom team.

It has been a tough fortnight without a game and it is time to take off the running shoes and get the boots on again. was put to bed early. After a long chat - and what I would call a video nasty - it was out on to the training ground to work our socks off. As you can imagine, the gaffer wasn't in the greatest of moods and neither were the lads.

I am not one for moping around and thinking the world is going to end. The best thing to do is get on to the training ground and work to put things right. And, in fairness, the lads have looked really sharp. Whatever the gaffer has asked of us we have gone out and done, which I am sure he appreciates.

The last week was very disappointing. After a great win against Cardiff and a solid draw at Crystal Palace, where we just never got started.

To say would be an understatement and the worst bit is having to wait two weeks until our next game. I'm sure the gaffer will have a few running sessions planned for us. And who are we to argue after our lacklustre showing?

Meanwhile, lots of you have asked me to name the best players I have played with over the years, so here goes (I'm not going to pick anybody from the three England teams I played in, that would be too easy - and there's no left-back because that's my position)....

It has been a tough couple of weeks with which means there is not a lot of recovery time.

You hardly get a rest so the intensity of training and the recovery time is a lot less compared to the Premier League.

But for the moment I seem to be coping really well. The Gaffer is great with me when the games come thick and fast. He knows when I need a rest from training and more to the point, so do I.
