From Ghana to South Korea. Many of us dream of high broadband speeds and ubiquitous internet access. Certainly in the UK, the broadband speeds leave many with something to be desired, but in South Korea, citizens can experience 100 megbits per second. So how does that change the way you connect? is a Phd student at King's College, Cambridge. He spent around a year in South Korea and kindly told me more about his experience.

Last but not least, the fantastically productive is the editor of a new paper that you can read as a physical copy or online. Hackers! encompasses the world of making, mixing and creating - much like the editor herself.

Internet freedom?

Jamillah Knowles | 11:36 UK time, Tuesday, 18 January 2011

Hello digerati!

This week we have had a chat with about his new book, the net delusion. Do we put too much faith in technology as an enabler for democracy? Are we aware of how authoritarian states are able to use the web for surveillance and sophisticated censorship? You can find out on the podcast for course.

Evegeny explains the finer points of connected technologies that cut both ways as Chris Vallance and I chat through his latest book.

Until next week!

First up a chat about an old favourite. may have been our gateway drug to social networking but it seems that with rumours of further cuts to a site that has already been trimmed down doesn't look too good. On the account, you shared your thoughts with me and editor Matt Brian told us the latest. But what of the idea that Myspace is now a place for musicians? Blogger and musician told us about his experience and what has changed for him musically online.

Dawn Danby is the curator of the project and she explained how it works.
