Morning all.
Last Saturday before Christmas. What don't we want? Last-minute panic shopping. When don't we want it? Now!
Though the economy, I'm told, needs it.
I'm going to have a cup of coffee instead. Before I start my last-minute panic Christmas card for hand delivery writing.
What? 502 at this early hour?

I'm off to brave the stores now :-(
Gillian , Interesting photo, - I see there are some female Santa's amongst them.
Well, I struggled 'round T*sc*s at 8:40 this morning, and it was packed out with people pushing fully laden trolleys round (in a few cases two trolleys!). You'd think they were shopping for a month! I was lucky in that I managed to only need ten things, so I could waltz straight through the express checkout lane (okay, so I didn't actually waltz, but I did sashay a bit!). Now I'm doing the housework, then I'm all set...
FF, yes, well, all the shops are going to be shut from tea-time on 24th until the morning of 26th. (About as much as they used to be shut between Saturday midday and Monday morning, as they all were in my Mum's food-shopping days.) So it makes perfect sense for everyone to get in enough food for a ten-week siege. After all, some shops aren't going to open on Boxing day! Panic now! Ten times the usual amount of milk one uses in a day is obviously essential.
And today isn't even the last shopping day before Christmas.
I am still getting my head round the idea that one has to go on a diet after Christmas 'to shed the pounds one has gained over the Christmas period'. How much can one eat in a day or two, or even a week? Verily the mind doth boggle.
