Having rec'd the PM newsletter and seen that you have an item on the prog about the best performing primary school, I couldn't find anywhere to make a comment about it so I chose this news thread as the most recent. So, the point is I have recently compared the envrionmental performance of one of the country's most energy efficient primary schools with a Victorian one and a 1970s one. There is no observable link between academic attainment and the condition or "design quality" of a school. The government is pouring £45 bn of taxpayers money into schools rebuilding, predicated on improving academic attainment. There is no evidence to support that. In fact the 1970s school which is falling to pieces was rated as Outstanding by OFSTED. Perhaps your interviewee might like to comment where £45bn might be better spent.
