We've been really busy here at Pacific Quay over the last few weeks with the Authors Live event (clips now available on the website for your enjoyment), a podcasting Glow Meet and of course, Day that saw 70 schools from all over Scotland take part in making the news.

We've even more on the go this week, though - Thursday sees our Brainsmart Glow Meet, 'Make The Most of Your Memory', with , streaming to schools from Kirkintilloch High School from 1.30pm.

Drew is a 'mentalist' - not the insult it may seem at first in some areas of Scotland, rather, he is a psychological magician and mindreader. You might have seen him on Trisha as ' The Interrogator' and he's ex-millitary intelligence so there's no messing with him. He's been working with our Brainsmart team on memory techniques that could help learners with revision at this crucial period in the school year, but in a fun and engaging way.

His techniques are very simple (even we can do them!) but the results are amazing. In Thursday's session, he will teach a class of students two of his basic techniques - how to remember lists, and how to remember names and faces. He'll also demonstrate some of his more advanced skills and throw down a challenge to the students... both in Kirkintilloch and online.

There's a that can be accessed by Glow users all over Scotland. Visit the Brainsmart website to find out a bit more before stepping into Drew's world on Thursday. In case you miss the live event, or aren't a Glow user, we'll be posting a round-up of the day on this blog, including clips of Drew in action, so check back next week.

Discover Drew's secrets and impress your friends with your new-found memory skills!

We're excited here in Pacific Quay as we're hosting the first Authors Live event in conjunction with the today to mark .

Former Children's Laureate will be talking about his work, answering questions and reading to schools all over the country. The Scottish Book Trust have been running live author events for some time now, but this is the first one that we've been involved with and we're delighted to be a part of such an exciting venture.

Michael is one of the country's most exciting poets for young people (though lots of us not-so-young readers love his poems too!) and a wonderful performer of his own work. There was a morning event at 10.30am for primaries and there is a secondary event at 2pm, all available on the Authors Live website, so it's all go here at the moment!

The event will also be available through for schools in Scotland, and there are teaching resources available on the

There are more exciting authors coming up in the series, and next up is Julia Donaldson on 26th May. Who knows, maybe the Gruffalo might make an appearance!

I'll try and send a few tweets during the event for those of you who can't watch live, but if you're able to I think it will be well worth watching. Follow and on Twitter, or even better, tune in and see for yourself!
