Hi Victoria
like a lot of people who listen to your show I have to dip in and out as I drive betwen my calls, I was fascinated by the bits I was able to listen to yesterday concerning cancer sufferers, as a follower of Sunderland football club and a poster in there online fans forum I have been following with fascination the blog of a guy called Graham who posts by the name HAZEY, he is 30 and has inoperable liver and now lung cancer, I cant really explain how I feel when I read his bloggings other than to say I get rather emotional and weepy.
It really should be shared by the wider world, I'd like to say enjoy but I'm not sure if thats the right expression. It will I'm sure move you if you start reading it.

Christian religious folk resent criticism or any kind of disbelief and consider it an attack on their dogmatic faith.
When will the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú finally acknowledge that there are many listeners and Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú licence payers who are atheists and disbelievers and belong to no religion at all and so ensure a better balance is reflected in programmes of this kind as well as 'Thought for the Day'?
Of course religion is under scrutiny and criticism this is the problem for people of faith and received dogma which has to be swallowed whole.
Maybe they should all watch a re-run of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú4 programme recently shown on the history of the Hubble telescope which has revealed the immensity and complexity of the Universe we live in and then ask themselves if their pre-scientific received ideas from the Bible or Quran have even a remote handle on what is now known scientifically about the origin of the universe and life itself.
Jesus redeeming us, a benevolent God answering prayers and listening to our songs of praise along with giving us life after death are ideas that no longer stand scrutiny in an adult informed rational discussion.
Jesus said when he was a child he thought as a child and when a man thought as a man; and I think that with this reasoning he'd also stop believing in Father Christmas, coming down chimneys once he'd seen the nature of chimney pots on reaching manhood, just as I did and most of the other adults around me.
From there he'd probably move on to question Christianity for much the same reasons, as he'd see Hubbles Chimney pots and the complexity of Quantum facts about the nature of the atom and the undeniable fact of the big bang and probably become a dis-believer and join a growing number walking away from religion because it no longer makes sense or fits what's known about the facts of life and it's origins.
