Make a Christmas hat and cracker
Find out how you can make your own Christmas hat and cracker with Evie.
- One cardboard tube
- Three sheets of tissue paper (one in a different colour)
- Ribbon or string
- Glue
- Scissors (grown-up use only)
For the Christmas Hat:
Step One:
Take one sheet of tissue paper and folder it length ways in half and cut it down the middle.
Step Two:
Glue along the shorter edges of both pieces of tissue paper then stick them together.
Step Three:
Fold the tissue paper in half, then half again and get a grown-up to help you cut out a triangle shape (from the non-glued down edge).
Step Four:
Open the tissue paper out and you have your paper hat.
For the Christmas Cracker:
Step One:
For your cracker, get a cardboard tube and fill it with the hat you have made. You can pop anything in there, like a small chocolate or stickers, for example.
Step Two:
Roll your cardboard tube in the two pieces of (same-coloured) tissue paper and then twist both ends.
Step Three:
Tie a piece of ribbon or string around each end to hold it in place.
