Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and support for children with some of the most serious and complex health conditions in the UK.
The children we support often have multiple health conditions which require lifelong specialist care. We currently have over 100 Roald Dahl Nurses supporting over 32,000 children and young people across the UK.
Our celebrity patron, Claudia Winkleman, presented our 麻豆官网首页入口 Lifeline Appeal, which aired in February 2023. We are delighted to announce that the appeal raised over £40,000, a truly marvellous amount which will help provide vital Roald Dahl Nurses.In our appeal, we meet Max and his foster mum, Suzannah. Max has a GRIN2D-related disorder and epilepsy. Max can't walk or talk and is dependent on a tube for feeding. He is also registered blind and suffers regular seizures.
Max and his family receive vital support from their Roald Dahl Nurse, Lisa. Roald Dahl Nurses are a lifeline to the whole family, coordinating care and providing the highest levels of emotional support. Unfortunately, too many children with serious illnesses do not have access to this vital specialist care.
Thanks to the public's generous support, the donations raised from the appeal will go towards establishing new Roald Dahl Nurses to support more children with complex, lifelong conditions. Ensuring that heroic children and their families, like Max, no longer brave their illness alone.
