For three days, the Outdoors Show at the NEC became the largest meeting place in the UK for walkers, climbers, canoeists and outdoor enthusiasts.

With everything from rambling to adventure racing, bird watching to hang gliding, the NEC was the place to be for anyone with an interest in the outdoors.
The show incorporated a wide range of activities and organisations, which included events like the International Canoe Exhibition and the BMC Festival of Climbing.

The first ever Outdoors Show was held at the NEC last year. It was the first consumer show for the real outdoor enthusiast, and captured the imagination of over 29,000 people from around the Midlands, and from as far away as New Zealand.
The show's success hinged on its objectives: to create an inspirational event that was as much about a great day out, as it was about showcasing the best that the outdoors industry has to offer.
听In 2002, the Outdoors Show was named Best Launch Event in the Haymarket Awards and the team's promise that this year's event was better seems to have come true.
But it was mainly thanks to the addition of events like the BMC's Festival of Climbing being included in the event that it was such a success.
