A quacking way to spend Boxing Day!
 A duck race from Christmas past, an event which raised over 拢3,000 for charity
|  | They were under starter's orders and they were off on Boxing Day - a group of rubber ducks, that is, who raised money for Kenilworth Lions.

 | | A total of 1,500 ducks lined up at Finham Brook on Boxing Day for the annual duck race, which has become a staple of the Christmas celebrations in Kenilworth - and raises thousands for charity.
The traditional race, which is organised by Kenilworth Lions, started at Kenilworth castle and from there the ducks made their merry way along the brook through Abbey Fields before reaching the finishing line.

The race gave punters the chance to walk off some Christmas pudding and turkey as well as following their duck.
A 拢1 ticket could get you a duck, which has numbers underneath to identify it as yours. There were four 拢100 prizes for the first duck home, 拢75 prizes for those coming second and 拢25 prizes for those in third place.

The race began at 12 noon, with Kenilworth mayor John Hatfield starting the race with some help from Carnival Queen Faye Reeder.
It paid to get to the castle early as there was a traditional morning of entertainment to warm-up race-goers.
Among the music and acts were morris men and the Chinewrde dancers.
