Fans are being invited to meet the Coventry Blaze ice hockey team tonight from 8.30pm, after the Open Training session.

The venue is the brand new Blaze Bar at the Four Provinces. The new bar, dedicated to the Blaze, opened officially on 21 August.

It will be open on match nights throughout the season and on special event nights.

More details are available on the Blaze Bar website linked on the left.

It was felt a regular place for followers to meet would help attract more support to the British National League team.

The Blaze Bar was been established in an almost-redundant function room at the Four Provinces Irish club in Spon End, Coventry. Loyal regulars at the bar - known affectionately as the 4Ps - are well behind the scheme.

In fact, it was a bunch of regulars that came up with the idea in the first place!

There have always been some fans that met at the 4Ps, but with players drinking there and more regulars becoming hooked on the sport, the idea of having a space dedicated to the club began to develop.

The upstairs of the Allesley Old Road pub is now an ice hockey palace, featuring memorabilia and souvenirs from clubs all over the world - as well as the Blaze - and it's hoped the collection will build over time.

The bar is asking friends to to donate or loan their Blaze or other ice hockey memorabilia to add to the collection.
