New Artistic Director for The Belgrade Theatre

|  | A new Artistic Director has been appointed at The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry to take over from Bob Eaton and start the new project.

 | | David Burbidge, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry has the appointment of the theatre's new Artistic Director.
Mr Burbidge said: "This is a time of great importance for the Belgrade Theatre with an exciting 9 million pound capital project about to start."
"We launched an extensive search to find the new Artistic Director and were able to compile a short list of the very highest calibre."

Hamish will be taking over from Bob Eaton, who has been Director of the Belgrade for the past seven years and has achieved great things, leaving the theatre with a large and diverse audience base.

Hamish Glen started his career at the Traverse Theatre in 1980 and since then has directed many productions at the Tron Theatre plus others abroad in Finland and Lithuania. For the past 10 years he has been Artistic Director of the Dundee Rep where he has directed more than 20 productions, the last 4 all having been nominated for TMA awards. He is also the current Chairman of the Federation of Scottish Theatre.
He said today:
"I am absolutely delighted to be appointed Artistic Director of the Belgrade, a theatre with an incredibly important history. I feel I am joining at a time of big opportunities and of great excitement for both the theatre and city."
Mr Burbridge hopes Hamish Glen will be able to take up his appointment at the Belgrade Theatre in the New Year.
