 |  | Stratford's Swan Theatre is braced to welcome the dynamic Union Dance on their Spring 2003 tour.
The group has been described as the UK's most accessible and exciting dance company and this show seems set to prove their position once and for all.

The company has teamed up with an international trio of choreographers, hailing from the USA, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Together they have created a rich cultural mix of breathtaking movements and visual effects.
The tour, titled Permanent Revolution: Virtual 2 Reality, promises to explore migration, cultural transition and ryhthms of life.
 Through the course of one performance the dancers mix break-dancing with the Brazilian martial art, Capoeira, the grace of ballet and tai chi with the razzmatazz of jazz dance and the sharply intelligent moves of contemporary dance.

To help this theatric exploration, the dancers have teamed-up with two multi-media artists.
The result is a ground-breaking combination of tradional dance, stunning projections and bold choreography.
The music is a similar combination, with hip hop and African beats blending to create a contemporary an traditional mix.
It is this boiling-pot of styles and interests that led to the company being named Union Dance when it was formed in 1985.
The company has always had an inclusive philosophy and believes the blend of dance, design, music, lighting and theatrical experience can be united in movement to fulfil the unity of spirit, mind and body.

Union Dance are at the Swan Theatre in Stratford on Saturday, 1 February at 7.30pm.

Other performances
If you can't make it to Stratford on 1 February, you can see Union Dance in one of their other touring shows, called Urban Classics II, in Redditch.
They are returning to the area on 11 February to perform at The Palace Theatre in the town.
