The National Eisteddfod of Wales is the largest cultural event of its kind in Europe. It takes place annually during the first week of August and this year it's being held in Cardiff, between 3-11 August.

Radio and Television

Fresh from the World Cup in Russia Jason Mohammad will be on home-turf throughout the week as he brings all the fun and entertainment of the National Eisteddfod to Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One Wales in two special programmes.

For the first time in over a decade, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One Wales will broadcast the highlights on Wednesday, August 8 and Friday, August 10 at 7:30pm. These programmes will showcase the best of what the Eisteddfod has to offer and how one of Wales' oldest festivals is evolving to remain a relevant cultural force.

Jason will meet some of the most prominent figures from this year's Eisteddfod, including its Honourary President - and legendary DJ - Huw Stephens and Wales and Lions rugby legend Jamie Roberts, who will be one of the privileged figures welcomed into the Gorsedd of the Bards this year. He'll also be introducing audiences to several colourful characters that make the Eisteddfod the vibrant cultural festival it is today.

As well as showcasing the traditional ceremonies of the Chair and the Crown, proud Cardiffian, Jason will be there to see the Butetown carnival team-up with the Eisteddfod for a Saturday night spectacle. He'll speak to Bryn Terfel as he prepares to take part in a musical tribute to the singer, actor and political activist Paul Robeson 50 years after he sang in the 1958 Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale.

He will also visit the 'Mas ar y Maes' ('Out on the field') events, organised in partnership with Stonewall Cymru, the Eisteddfod and the local LGBT community. And Jason will take a moment to look around Y Lle Celf - the largest temporary modern art exhibition in Europe - and meet up with last year's winner to hear about her success.
