The latest news is that the licence to provide digital radio in some of the Derbyshire area has been transferred to a second company following the sale of the company which originally won the licence.

When the industry regulator, Ofcom, awarded a licence to provide digital radio, including 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Derby and a selection of commercial stations, to an estimated 850,000 people around Derbyshire, the service was originally due to be launched by July 2008.

However, there we various delays to the process and, despite the licence changing hands, as far as we know there has still been no new date set听 for the launch of DAB in Derbyshire.

This, unfortunately, is one of those things that is completely beyond our control and, sadly, there seems to be no immediate prospect of 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Derby being able to broadcast on DAB.

The roll-out of DAB radio services is being co-ordinated for the Government by Ofcom and is being released in phases.

Don't be put off

Just because you have a digital radio it doesn't mean you can't use it to listen to your favourite 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Derby programmes...

Many DAB radios these days also have an FM option - which means you can hear us loud and clear on 104.5 MHz, 95.3 MHz (mid and north Derbyshire) and 96 MHz (Buxton).

So if you haven't yet bought a digital radio, you might like to consider ensuring the one you choose has this facility.

The take up of digital radio has been extremely fast - DAB radios are flying off the shelves and proving to be very popular.

For that reason, 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Derby is campaigning hard for DAB services in the area to ensure you can listen to its great programmes using the most up-to-date technology.
