Q: What's the history of CQB?
A: It's evolved out of several Nottingham bands until there was only me left and I moved to Devon in 2003.

Now CQB is just me, Robin Cowpertwait, aged 42, on guitar and vocals - and my imaginary friends who play everything else.

We all live in Teignmouth.

Q: Which three words best describe your music.
A: Quirky, English, Original.

Q: Tell us about the track you've chosen to demo?
A: Rock Pooling (sunshine mix) - a pretty little song written on a cliff top above Morte Bay before moving down to live in Devon.

Q: You obviously love Devon then - what are the highs and lows of being here?
A: The highs: Haytor and Haldon Hills! Lows? Cold easterlies and endless cover bands.

Q: Not fond of cover bands then?
A: I think it's a shame there are so many locally.

The music scene IS getting better though, and it's good to see some 'proper' bands around and people who can actually play their own instruments.

Q: Whose records do you have in your collection?
A: Everybody including Elvis Costello, Robyn Hitchcock, Squeeze, Eels, Beatles, Sparklehorse, XTC, KT Tunstall and Andy Williams.

I'd love to perform with Robyn Hitchcock.

Q: Complete the sentence: "When I become famous....."
A: ...I'll be very, very surprised!
