You've
been a solo artist for a relatively short time..
Since
September, 2004, yeh. I used to be in a band called The Negative
Splits but all the other members disappeared off to uni etc.
But I've written and performed my own songs since I was 16 so that's
not new.

It
must be a bit daunting gigging on your own?
It can be. I'm still finding my way really. I
have a regular set at The Clock Tower in Torquay and one or two
other dates in the diary but I'm yet to see what a summer season
in the bay has to offer.
And
do you perform your own music?
Usually it's covers - Beatles, Radiohead etc.
It's just me and the guitar.
The
song you've chosen for us to listen to is The Sadist - what's the
story?
Hard to explain really. It's about the way I see the world. It was
inspired by my observations. I like my songs to have a topic but
I could be anywhere when a song comes to me - usually the melody
first - then I just have to try and remember it when I get home
to my guitar.
Do
you have broad shoulders? What if people say they don't like your
demo?
If
I'm going to put my music out there, I have to take the consequences.
You can't please all the people all the time can you?
Who
would you list among your influences?
Led Zeppelin, Free, Radiohead, Rory Gallagher, The Beatles...shall

If
you could invite three people to a dinner party - who would you
ask and why?
Jimmy Page, Quentin Tarantino and Jack Nicholson
- they're all really impressive people.
What
do you think of the current music scene?
Not that good. There are some very weak guitar bands
and very few worth listening too.
The local scene is good though, although there could always be more
venues that promote local music.
