Why
Stephenson's Rocket? The
first gig we ever did, we got paid 拢5! The old fivers used
to have Stephenson's Rocket on the back, so we used it!
How
did you all get together..? We met in Newton Abbot. This line-up has been
playing together for about three years. The reason we got together
was because we all fancied the drummer's sister!
Who's
who in the band? Darren Curnow, 26, vocals and rhythm guitar.
Richard Curnow, 24, on bass.
Mike Fricker, our lead guitarist is 24 and, last but not least,
22 year old Steve Godfreey on drums.
We're based in Newton Abbot where the quality of life - and girls
- is great. If we had to pick a downside it would be that we are
so far away from London, the centre of the music industry. It's
hard to get the attention we deserve.
What's
the song you've chosen to demo for us?
The name of the track is Revolution. It's about the constant development
of thought! Also it was written at a time when music was evolving
and it felt like a bit of a revolution.

Which
three words best describe your sound? High
Octane Rock!
If
you could invite three people to a dinner party - who would you
ask and why? The other three members of the band as we always
have such a good laugh together!
What
do you think of the current music scene? The music industry is poor at the moment, in both senses.
Poor - as in underperforming for bands that want to make music that
counts (not the manufactured stuff pouring out over the airwaves)
- it really needs a kick up the arse!
And poor in monetary terms, compared with five years ago. Could
this be because all the majors have gone down the easy route rather
than developing good tight bands?
OK that's us off our soapbox now!
What's the most memorable
gig you've played to date...? In October 2004 we played The Viper Room in Los Angeles,
Johnny Depp's club. We have a management company out there working
for us now and we hope to be going back again soon to showcase.
