Why do messages need to be in pre moderation for over 9 hours?
It is very frustrating for those of us that want to know what has been said in theese messages and must be 100 times more so for the people who are being pre moderated.
Set the messages free.
Posts which have to be looked at by moderators are placed in a queue and are dealt with in the order in which they were received. So the 9 hours is just the (current) backlog that the moderators have.

Yes Mike, the waiting in a queue I can understand but why does one have to be in pre mode for so many days. I must have been trying to get out of this state for 4 days now, it's very frustrating. Are they waiting to see if I will reveal myself to be a mean and bitter person 'cos I'm not I'm very nice.
Four days! I was in limbo for nearly two weeks recently and then it all turned out to be a mistake and I shouldn't have been modded in the first place.

Yes, thank you for the sympathy, Christina Rossetti; it is indeed extremely frustrating. Now I know just how the Silents feel. Four or five messages so far, and still no drink in the Bull!
Yours, to be heard sometime next week, if I'm lucky.

I should have added this to my previous message, but, dash, missed it. It's a query I'm pasting from the 'Sophie's Innocence?' thread in DTA. By the time I was de-pre-modded, the thread had vanished into page 2 -- but I still have the ear-worm. Eternal thanks for any answer!
"I've been trying to remember Nelson's description of Sophie:
'A [brain?. . . voice? other suggestions available] like a [ . . . . ], and a face like a Botticelli angel.'
If anyone sees this once it emerges from pre-mod you could help to zap an irritating earworm."
A grateful

You've given me ear worm now. But whatever the line was I know it would have been delivered with great panache by Nelson. My nickname is part of a great Nelson riposte.
My deepest sympathy with the pre-mod. I thought it was never going to end, then suddenly..... my whole life has been taken over by Mustardland!
Have a drayful at TB on my tab whilst you're waiting.

TVD! My first reply! Many apols about the ear worm, but thanks for ever for helping me 'go live'. It'll have to be a taste of the Shires (just the once). I've been wasting years on here in any case as a lurker, but didn't want to end life saying but I didn't inhale.
Nelson delivered the line impeccably. Any of your Nelson memorabilia are fine by me; as are Flanders and Swann. Keep going! They're wonderful.

I've probably extended my time in pre-mod by some vast amount by not posting recently ....at least partly because I'm fed up with the pre-mod thing. It's a good way to restrict membership to the message board, so that only the really doggedly persevering posters survive.
When (sorry, if) I finally make it to the Bull out of moderation I'll have a very unmoderated magnum of bubbly!

Friendly local dragon and Dawn Burns,
I understand your frustration, I think it's bound to put people off, it would me, I don't think I have the patience, but it is worth it in the end so hang on in there, Just keep posting I agree or snork and when you do emerge into the mustard coloured sunlight I for one look forward to meeting you, in the mean time have a drink on my tab in the Bull to ease your annoyance.
Christina x
Elnora,
This is truly appalling, a travesty, if you like, against every principle of natural justice!
What do you mean, no drink in the Bull? Get yourself over to that bar and tell Sid to pour you a skipful, nay! a supertanker-full of your favourite tipple. And then have the second on my tab!
Heavens! What's happening to the place...
mutter, mutter,...

I was in pre-mod for over 4 weeks and getting really p****d off with it.
Then about three weeks ago someone started a thread in DTA complaining that they'd been in pre-mod for 4 MONTHS. This prompted mass complaints and e-mails to keri from all of us stuck in pre-mod, helped by support from some old-timers, and lo and behold a whole bunch of us were released at once!
The trouble is I'm now wasting too much time here when I should be doing about a million other things. It's such fun though.
A big welcome anyhow to all now stuck in pre-mod.

I'm still in pre-mod
Is there some way of speeding the process up?
I've been very careful to send mild, bland messages for 3 weeks now.
Is it a time thing? or number of messages?

I'm not sure but I think it is to do with the number of messages sent. Somebody else said they had been let out of pre mod after 15 messages. I tried to keep count but got forgetful as I do, but it was around that number.

Low Flyer -
I'm grateful for your concern. No danger of missing out on the Bull (just a slippage between messages). So, many thanks for the very generous tab. I'm quaffing skipfuls; still a Silent though -- but looking forward to preescaping pre-mod and starting to talk.

Well, Elnora, I'm relieved that it's not as bad as I feared.
I presume you just push notes across the counter for Jolene or Sid to read when you need another drink, or some pork scratchings or whatever. It must be tricky knowing what to order 8 or 9 hours in advance though.
Have the next one on me anyway.

6 weeks, 13 threads (therefore at least 13 messages). I suspect that if you don't post a certain number of times in a certain number of days you'll never be free. Fat chance of that - half the time it's so slow it won't even let me sign in!

Elnora, I know that you are out of Pre-mod now, and you probably already know the answer to this question, just in case there are any other new posters reading this, as far as I know, threads started by posters in pre-mod will appear at the top of the mayo when they have been approved by the mods, this is because otherwise they would slip down the mayo unread because no one would be able to see them.

I don't think so, I have another account (which I no longer use) I posted quite alot with it at first but it was still in pre-mod so I gave up, then I decided to try again recently and it was freed within two posts.
hope you don't mind but I'll add a message here to just clock up one more before I hopefully am let loose by our moderators.....
