No, but all that rummaging behind his plate for trapped food scraps has made his tongue exceptionally flexible.
I think it's luverly, both of you methodists and all.
Dusty, you'll be the first person in ML to find out.
Lucky you!
We don't know, but I suspect not.
All that cider drinking will not help (rather acidic -don't drink it out of pewter mugs).
Has he any teeth - I can't see Joe going to a dentist (in Borchester?).

Don't worry, Dusty.
He'll probably interprete your fear as "maidenly reticence".

'Maidenly reticence'. I wonder if I can get away with it.
Problem is, I really need to have the courage of my convictions, and to threaten Keri with something truly dire if the worst seems to be happening.
And of course I don't know what Joe Grundy is doing his end, he can't be looking forward to it. Dx

Oh, sorry, Dusty - I didn't mean "maidenly reticence" as in "being justified in calling the whole thing off out of a sense of innocent propriety".
I meant that he would see any hesitation, "not answering the phone or the door", "moving to another county", "changing your whole identity" on your part as mere flitatious, girlish prevarication, wehich could easily be overcome by his manly charms, experience and best set of teeth.

Now now Dusters, you know you are looking forward to it really. Methinks you doth protest too much.

If he doesn't have his own teeth, mayhaps he could borrow Mr Pullens for the occasion?
I worry about Joe in all this. Susan Grundy died a long, long time ago. I do not recall Joe snogging anyone in the interim. He is 80 years old.
Dusters and La Sharp's idea of romance seems to belong more to the world of Billy Smart than Mills and Boone.
Be gentle with him won't you? They don't make them like that any more!

Dusters, I've said it before, and I'll say it again -"Maidenly reticence".
He IS 80, and full-on erotic drama with a fit young thing like you might be too much for his heart!
Never mind the plaque, I reckon Joe's tongue is green and furry what with the baccy and the general lack of oral hygiene. It's quite possible he's growing the next super-antibiotic in his gob and it just needs a courageous soul to discover it for the good of humankind.
He doesn't. You may recall he refused muesli when Caroline offered it because "it got under his plate".
OOh, Dusty!
You're in for an exotic experience, then!
dusters, you i should hope not! honestly i dont expect this sort of thing in notes and queries. i pop over here for a bit of r and r from the hurly burly of dta and the bull. is no where safe these days! thud.

Dusty, is there a womans equivalent of the French Foreign Legion that you could join?
The phrase "bitten off more than she could chew" keeps coming into my head, but in this context I really wish that it didn't.
Good luck.

I see someone has 'booked' the Rugby Stadium. Oh lord. Dx
I'm sure he'd take the teeth out first if you asked.
The Joe Grundy strip, as it were.
