Wasn't it all related to Cameron Fraser, who was involved with both of them, but turned out to be a cad (cf Simon Pemberton)?
Sorry to be vague, but hopefully others can then fill in.....
I thought it was that Lizzie knew about Siobhán and Brian's liason, and that Ruairi was his child, but failed to tell Debbie [sniffs and tantrums all around].

Hi Rosie,
You are probably right - of course, I suspect the falling out and making up between them may well have been going on for some time. I was sure there was a love triangle at some stage.
Again, not absolutely sure, but I don't think Debbie was a friend of Cameron's - Caroline was, and Lizzie was gloriously hateful to Caroline on several occassions.

The Debbie Lizzie falling out was definitely about Lizzie knowing about Brian's affair and the baby. Lizzie and Shula fell out around the time of Cameron Fraser as Lizzie had an abortion when Shula, in the middle of her infertility problems, had offered to adopt the baby
