    Three questions,
1 how many people listen to TA each week and are their opinions sought on content etc

2 do these figures and opinions influence the story lines and character development

3 do the, extreme and sometimes nonsensical, views expressed in the messgae boards influence the writers and what happens to the character eg if enough messages were posted wanting a character removed would they eventually succeed

    1. Nearly five million. Their opinions are not sought but are welcome, mainly through this message board.

    2. To an extent, but they are only one of the elements that influence us.

    3. I provide a regular summary of the main opinions expressed her. Whether it affects individual writers I couldn't really say. It can certainly influence my writing occasionally, hopefully in a positive way. I think it's extremely doubtful that any petitioning for the removal of a character would have any effect (or Ruth would probably be shacked up with Sam by now).

The likelihood of a fictional character snogging a real person are nil, Dusty. I point this out in a kindly way, since it seems you have got carried away by your fantasy. Cheer up, and stop drinking the Pandemicgargleblasters!

LInking in to that keri, I've always wanted to ask how much detail of plots is worked out by the whole team and how much is left up to individual SWs. For example, Usha and Ruth meeting in Jaxx Caff last week. Was it decided by all where, when they would meet and a rough outline of what would be said or were you just told 'Usha advises Ruth'?

Here is the relevant bit of the storyline:

"Desperate, Ruth talks to Usha, who is seriously concerned about it all. Ruth tells her she doesn’t think David can forgive her. She breaks down completely and tells Usha just what a mess she’s made of it all. Usha finds herself reminding Ruth that David himself really was out of line dallying with Sophie as he did, but Ruth is not to be consoled."

So where and how (and who else therefore might be involved, to carry other storylines) was up to me, which is fairly common.
