Does anyone else remember a play on radio 4 broadcast on christmas eve set in the church yard when all the archer animals came to life. I think they were voiced by archer actors. No one in my family has any memory of this!
No, unfortunatley not. But sounds fabulous, snork. How far does LA go back because I'd love to hear it.
i thought when the Christmas day service comes up the local children come with a donkey from the "stables" also they bring oranges with cloves, lit up with something or other.
I may have got muddled with the Palm Sunday service.
also as a newish user of the message board, there is a word that I have seen a few times, which is "snork".
Please could someone explain it to me, but if it not possible, don't worry.
I have a vague memory of a radio christmas "show" that was hosted by 'Brian' and 'Eddie' (posh voice, more of a Trevor) one year, when they got various Archers to do a 'party piece,' some songs, verses, turns etc. It was,in my memory, at the time of the 3 day week, as I can see the scented candle, bought at Boscastle, melting on the gas fire as I listened. I think there was a reading of the poem, cannot remember the title, about that time on xmas eve when animals are given the power of speech. Or it may have been the AlbertCampion short story when the dog talks to Albert about Amanda?
Or I may be mixing it up.
It was definitely a play. Jack played his dog captain, Phil voiced his pig Mollie.Clarrie and Shula were also featured. It must be about 15 years ago. It was a take on the christmas eve story.Being an old sentimentalist I loved it!

Hi Tabs, and welcome to the boards. Have you picked up your free drink in the Bull yet? Have a skipful of your favourite on me in any case.
Here's the link to the Message Board FAQs - includes explanation of "snork" and many other Mustardland creations, including "Mustardland":
It's very out of date, but still useful. Even more confusing are the nicknames used for Archers characters...
cheers

It was called The Beasts of Ambridge.
Any plans for a repeat then Mr Davies? Or even an updated version since beasts come and go?
