Is it known whether Paddy Redmond's first name was Patrick, or if he was called Paddy as he was from Ireland, in the same was that Mr Ashdown was....?
I always assumed he was Patrick. I am of Irish descent and I can't remember Irish males being called Paddy whatever. They may have been referred to as a 'paddy', usually behind their backs.
He's known as 'Paddy' in TBOTA
Rick, Mr. Ashdown's name wasn't Paddy, that was a sort of nickname that stuck. I don't know what his real name was. IS he actually Irish? Ashdown, not Redmond. Piece of anoracky trivia: John Boht (Bott?), who played Paddy R.,alos, later on played John Tregorran for a while..
(exits hastily, pursued by the whole warehouse content of Millets anoracks)
I always assumed that he was Paddy, short for Patrick. I don't recall any references to Paddy being a nickname. However, it was a long time ago and I wasn't very old then so it may have passed me by.
Jeremy, I believe...
I don't think so, but spent some formative years in Belfast, iirc...
Paddy Asdown was a nickname. NOT Paddy Redmond. Catx
