Apologies if this was asked on 1 Jan. Like many others I was consumed with curiosity to know why the (rather elegant) cupboards in the TA scriptwiters' room had dirty great padlocks and chains through the handles. Apart from the fact it looked really naff, are the SWs so poorly thought-of that they can't be trusted not to burgle their own cupboards?
I hope Mr K will be able to enlighten us on the nature of the skeletons therein.

I suspect the chains and padlocks were also on all the windows and doors, to contain Ms Whitburn and prevent her visiting other programmes in the Mailbox and attempting to "improve" them...
HTH ;-D
Unless it was where the biscuit are kept.
Could it be a shared room, and the cupboards hold the exciting answers for "Quote Unquote" questions?
Are the exciting answers the ones we never hear?

That could be because they're locked away!
I remember a youth club I went to about 30 years ago that had padlocks and chains on all the empty cupboards "because if they didn't lock them we would put stuff in them"...
That room is actually one of the meeting rooms in the CBSO Centre (the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra's headquarters and rehearsal space), which we use for our script meetings. I assume the cupboards contain sheet music
Mr D Sir!
I take my hat off to you, you seem to have mopped up every outstanding query in the space of about 3 minutes! Not for the first time....I'm impressed.

Thanks very much Keri. The answer is spectacularly uninteresting. But what do you mean 'I assume'? - you mean to say you and the other SWs haven't all tried to take a peek?
OL
It just shows how involving the script meetings are, I suppose.
snork!
Or how little interest the members take in anything outside Borsetshire, maybe! *<:+)}}}}}
