I have a copy of the Borchester Echo 10th Anniversary Issue [1961]. It's in very good condition, has an amusing article featuring comedian Jimmy Edwards, several adverts for real products and, of course, several articles [newspaper style] relevant to the series at that time. The front page headline story announces the forthcoming marriage of Carol Grey and Charles Grenville.
I'd like to know if there is an Archers archive anywhere that may like to become the custodian.
The Archers Addicts site ( see Links <--------- ) had a place you could sell stuff like this, maybe someone on there would be good. Or Peter Tewkesbury has a vast memorabilia collection, he may be interested: ask on the Saddicts site.
Please forgive the obscenity I am about to type, but - God forgive me - what about e-bay?
The programme's archivist at the Mailbox keeps an archive of such material. I'll ask her if we have a copy of this particuar edition.
Thankyou Keri,
I look forward to hearing from you.
Can you be the "better half" of a certain Mrs Trellis of Wales?
The item is on offer to the most appropriate custodian, not the highest bidder.
By the way, I do hope your god will forgive you and many thanks for taking the time to reply.
Best regards, David.
It turns out we don't have a copy of that particular edition. I will email you directly with a fowarding address. Many thanks.
