Can anybody tell me if Adam and Debbie own any part of Brians businesses.
Posters on the board seem to think he would have to make a financial settlement to Adam and Debbie, but if Mr Travers-Macy adopted Adam, then surely Brian has no legal obligation to support either of them, other than a redundancy payment etc...
So he would have to settle with Jennifer and support Alice until she finishes education, but thats all...unless he is feeling generous?
He could easily change his will so only his children inherit from him.

Correct me if I'm wrong (someone will, I know) but I don't see that legally Brian has to give/ leave anything to anyone - except (I think) his wife Jennifer (who does have a right and could contest a will that shut her out) and any dependents (children under 18 - ie Ruarhi). He doesn't though have to leave any of his money to his children whether they are natural, adopted, step, or anything else - it could go to Sundial House if he wanted (whatever happened to that?).

Maybe they'd better all start being very nice to him...

Morally is of course different. And if he never makes a will there are complicated rules that dicatte who gets what. But legally - it's up to him.
