Under the rules of the competition each team has to provide an umpire and scorer for the early rounds (I know this because sad as it is I looked them up. I know that Phil and Bert umpired at one time nd Mrs Antrobus scored I think but does anyone know who will be performing these important duties for Ambridge in the Village Cup.
If anyone is interested in the full Borsetshire draw for the cup so they can follow Ambridge's fortunes Wisden have published it here
Thank you so much, Polly!
I have printed it out. Should we forward it to Alistair, and point out that they do not need to worry, Darrington aren't playing?

I think we already knew that Darrington aren't playing. I find it rather worrying that Borsetshire is group no. 33 and therefore the team that wins the Borsetshire section will be unable to progress any further in the draw.
Shucks! Really? I missed the riveting info that Darrington aren't playing? why? Anything to do with Kevin having been honey-trapped into playing for Ambridge?

I see that Hassett Vale have withdrawn. I wonder whether it's worth petitioning
Mr K for a topical insert explaining why.
snork!
Number 9 - Question
Is this serious?

They did have an episode where they discussed the Borsetshire opposition and I definitely remember Paxley and Netherbourne being mentioned and definitely not Darrington. (Of course Darrington would have been mentioned as the main rivals of Ambridge.) However, the key point is when is somebody from Ambridge going to go to that cricket website and notice that the Borsetshire winner isn't going to progress?
